2005 Subaru STi

Phew. First hired job. I really need to work on my speed. Unfortunately, since I was still sorting out some techniques and pressed for time, I wasn't able to take a good collection of WIP pictures. This was still a rather lengthy detail at 23 hours, but I took my time to do everything above and beyond, since it was a personal friend's car. Still better than my very first 35 hour detail.

Wash
Griot's Car Wash
Gilmour Foam Gun
Shmitt Mitt
P21S AP Cleaner
Griot's Wheel Cleaner
Swissvax Detail Brush
Griot's Tire Brush
Griot's Sheepskin wheel mitt

Clay
Swissvax Rubber Clay
Griot's Speed Shine

Polish
Porter Cable 7424XP
Uber Orange, Green, and Blue Pads
Menzerna Power Gloss, SIP, SF
Uber Yellow MF

LSP
Optimum Optiseal
Swissvax Samurai
Griot's Wax Pad
Black Wow
Uber Foam Block
Griot's Tire Shine
Swissvax Autobahn Wheel Wax

Interior
House vac
Einszett Cockpit
Swissvax Detail Brush
Griot's Speed Shine
Griot's QD Plush MF
RainX Glass Cleaner
Uber Green Glass MF

It was fun to get my friend's car looking beautiful. It always had so many swirls, it hurt.

Mixture of my shots and said friend's shots. I officially suck at taking before and after spots into the light. Any tips pros? All of my shots came out focused on the wrong damn stuff, even though they looked fine through the viewfinder.

Half of the car - Passenger side.

Driver's side door. The hell?

My fat *** at work.

I can has Swissvax? I can! I can't wait till I have enough money to upgrade to Concourso or Mystery.

C&C welcome, though be kind, I'm fluffy. Yes, I know I'm using a lot of Griot's stuff. I'm phasing almost all of it out.

Re: 2005 Subaru STi

Congratulations on your first detail job.

Very distinctive taste on the choice of bonnet and boot lid. Other than the brakes, bumper, and skirt the car resembles nothing of the STi. The exhaust muffler is simply too much for the base-looking Impreza.

Re: 2005 Subaru STi

He was definitely going for more of a sleeper look with the car. He's been thinking about changing to a more...subdued looking exhaust to help finish the look. This thing is putting down more than 425 WHP though, so nothing too restrictive. Probably going to paint the brakes a less distinctive color as well.

Re: 2005 Subaru STi

So does it have an intercooler in the front then? I hope so.
