Selfish glamour shots - '07 GMC YXLD

Since a full detail in June I've been layering coats of sealant (Wolfgang DGPS) and yesterday I topped with the happiness that is Pinnacle Souveran. The tires and wells received a coat (and buff) of Zaino Z16. Since it was such a nice day I couldn't resist snapping some shots...

I've also been experimenting with a 50mm lens - here are a coupla' shots @ f/1.8:

wow that gmc looks clean and shiny!!! Must be a PITA to detail though.. How long does it take you to do a full detail?

A full detail is really time-consuming. I honestly can't say for certain how long it'd take because I got interrupted with a couple of trips to the vet when I was working on it in June. Accordingly, there are a few imperfections I didn't get to touch. Nonetheless, I spent about 13 hours over two days working on the finish, and I'd guess I removed 85-90% of the defects.

Familiar with the cliche, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco?" Well...that's where I'm at.

No real harsh elements - thankfully - but the truck spends its weekdays in a foggy, salt-air environment, while weekends are in a sunny, windy neck of the woods with lots of pollen.

VroomVroom- Glad to hear it won't be subjected to nasty winter weather.

And hey, ~13 hours/2 days isn't bad at all. I needed a *LOT* longer than that on mine.

Yeah, but knowing you, your results were better than mine.

I spent a lot of time on this beast when I bought it last October - there were etched water spots everywhere. From then until June it received regular washes but not much else. I had an '03 (and my wife had an '04 XL) previously - it ain't always easy keeping the General's orange peel looking just right.
