2001 BMW 540i wagon

My dad just purchased this Anthracite Metallic 2001 BMW 540iT, we picked it up in NY last weekend. The car was in pretty good shape for its age, but definitely needed a detail. The exterior took about 8 hours with both of us working. The interior was worked on during this past week, probably about 4 hours total. The paint came out 90-95% perfect, only some random deep scratches left...

Exterior:
Wash
Clay
Menzerna SIP via PC
Menzerna 106FF via PC
Collinite 845
PPG Aquapel on windshield

Wheels:
Wash/Scrub
Clay
Klasse AIO and SG

Interior:
Vacuum
Compressed Air
Vacuum Again
Leatherique on seats
Vinylex on trim/door panels

Very Cool. You did a great job and the car looks great. I always loved the look of the bimmer 5 series wagons.

Re: 2001 BMW 540i wagon

Great job on the wheels. I have to do a 330xi soon with the same crazy layer of brake dust. Do you have any tips that will save me some time or will the task require a lot of elbow grease? TIA

On the inside of wheels, i tried a Mr. Clean magic eraser made just for wheels and tires and I though i worked very well combined with a good wheel cleaner.

Wish I had some of that for this detail, probably would have cleaned them much faster. My dad used some generic spray cleaner that wasn't strong enough.

Nice work, and I just love the car. This is a fine example of one of the last BMW's I really liked. A wagon with the V8...my kinda' machine!

Re: 2001 BMW 540i wagon

Yeah, those wheels turned out great. Which reminds me that I need to clean up my wife's BMW wheels. I just got a bottle of Meguiar's Wheel Brightener that should make it go a little easier.
