2 C6 ZO6's, '08 Audi TT, '06 M5

2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. This is the one I wash/wax every two weeks. Last polished in late April last year. Swirling was minimal but the hood had some bird bombs thanks to the Chevy dealer parking it under a tree for three weeks while waiting for a new wheel to come in (one got bent).

These shots show how "bad" the car was...

2nd light from the bottom shows one of the bird bomb etchings

15 months since it was last polished, I think it shows that washing with ONR does pretty well, even on black.

The fender has been polished with Meguiars #105 cut about 20% with Optimum polish using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad @ 1000 rpms.

This was after following with Optimum Polish using a black LC CCS pad @ 1200 rpms and 3M Ultrafina using a blue Ultrafina pad @ 1000-1800-1000 rpms.

Couple sun shots during the polishing process:

If I remember right, this was after all polishing steps but before waxing.

After polishing, I waxed with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose and then buffed it off with Optimum Car Wax. I'll be using OCW every two weeks until it is time to polish again.

Not much sun left, the clouds rolled in as I was finishing and it was pouring rain by the time I got home.

Re: 2 C6 ZO6's, '08 Audi TT, '06 M5

Another 2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. He has me out every 3 months to give it a polish and wax. He originally had me come out after someone from MARS (Mobile Auto Restoration Specialists) left holograms all over the hood and driver's side of the car before the guy doing the detail realized what he was doing to the car, stopped and just glazed the whole car. The owner washes the car a week later and see all the buffer trails. The guy refused to repolish the car, but instead offered to give him the glaze to fill in the swirls. Anyway, the first round of polishing in December was pretty intense, when I was out in April, I went over it with some #105 then Ultrafina (neither of which I had the first time) to finish cleaning it up...stuff I could see that apparently my customer didn't notice until I pointed it out...and that the lack of daylight when I finished the first time I polished it I didn't see either. Nothing bad, a few faint trails here and there but since Corvette paint is like a rock, #105 made it go quicker. Note to self, make sure to bring halogens every day this coming winter.

The paint still looked really good this time, so I just went over it with the Ultrafina twins @ 1000-1800-1000 rpms.

After polishing, I waxed the Z06 with Carnauba Moose. Just like with the other Z06, the clouds rolled in before I finished and it rained on me the whole way home. Go figure.

2008 Audi TT. Overall, the paint was really good...except the dealer parked it on the lot under trees. Perfect place to park a black car, amitire?

The sap was rock hard. It took a combination of clay, Optimum's Water Spot Remover (not sure if it is available yet) and picking at the sap to remove it all. Really mind-numbing, boring work. Even the sides were pretty bad. Luckily, other than the sap, the car was very lightly spider swirled. Ultrafina did a fine job cleaning up the paint and Carnauba Moose added some additional depth and decent protection.

I was really pleased when I got to my customer's house and he had a tent set up for me to work under. Obviously, I'd be out of the sun in the garage but they tend to get pretty stuffy. He also had a fan set up.

A couple flash shots-a little dusty from polishing on a nearly 100 degree day with low humidity:

Sun shots:

All finished:

Dust was already getting on the paint!

Here are a couple pictures of the car my customer took after I left:

2006 BMW M5. The owner purchased this car a few months ago with only 12,000 miles on it. Overall, it was in excellent condition and he just wanted a light polish and wax. I went over it with Clearkote's Pink Moose Plus (Red Machine Glaze mixed with Vanilla Moose and an additional polish that gives it more cut but still gives that rich deep look that regular Pink Moose has) via PC. I then waxed it with Carnauba Moose. The sun was in and out while taking pictures.

Wow all of those cars are perfection. That M5 looks exceptionally good! I really like that color.

Really missed your click and brag posting and this time round you never fail to impress me with your work AGAIN. All the cars look great especially the Audi TT, very wet and deep looking. Looks like it is about time for me to use my Carnauba Moose Wax again .

Nice work Scott. The C6 Z06 is one of my favorite cars out there. The new TT bodystyle is incredible, and the M5 is sick too.

What were you using on the black plastic trim around the wheels on the rear quarters of the Vette? I dont think you mentioned it in the writeup (if you did, I must have missed it).
