Thanks Connor! I still keep an eye out for an OEM set of the M-par's. Not very many mint sets of those out there.

I placed a small section of a paper towel soaked with the 3M adhesive remover over each sap spot. 30 seconds later they wiped away clean. I am guessing the sap was on the car for 2-3 weeks.

gmblack3a- Sheesh, every time I see that car it looks even better...*man* is that a great color on that body style! And what condition for 103K I know, I'm really gushing but I just love that car (and I'm more of a short-wheelbase kinda guy too).

Yeah, it *is* interesting that the "A" didn't take off the sap, wonder what the folks at AutoInt would say about that (they, or at least Ron K., would probably say to use clay while doing the "B").

Thanks for your kind words Accumulator. A 2001 740i sport would be very nice as well.

IME so far with the system, "I" think that it is easier to clay after with a QD or just wipe the sap off with 3M adhesive remove then to try and clay during step B. If I only have 5-7 mins of working time with "B" not sure how that is enough time to clay say the hood and get the product off of the rest of the paint in time.

+1. What a magnificent color! The only cars I've ever seen with that paint have been trashed

Yeah, the "clay with "B" " idea is geared more towards ferrous/rust contamination anyhow. For the sap, well, that's just a different kind of job.

Good old 3M Adhesive Remover sure is handy stuff...are you using the stuff in the rectangular can or the aerosol version? The latter never really appealed to me as I fear it'd get everywhere that I *don't* want it.

Can yeah...I'd better not think about an '01 740i Sport too much or I'll be unable to resist. My one mechanic lent me his 740i (earlier year, non-sport) for a few days and much to my surprise I fell in love with how it drove. Always liked the *looks* but never expected to enjoy driving it so much (being so impressed, I gave it a nice detail ).

3MAR in the rectangular can 4 sure.

In 4 yrs whenever we replace this one, I am afraid that we won't be able to find a "lower mile" E38. I think the 01 sport will be at the top of the list. The E65 drives even better and improved MPG with more HP, but it looses out in the looks department.
