2003 Evo VIII - Pearl Black

This is a buddy's Pearl Black Evo 8

Process for this one was:

Debadged the trunk, Later added EVO 8 Badge
Clay w/ Meguiars Mild - 2 hours of claying - Z6 as lube
Rewash ONR and Q&EW
Paint touchup and wetsand many spots with 3000 grit - 3 hours
Meguiars #83 (DACP) - LC Yellow Cut Pad - Dewalt 849 - Speed 1200 to 1500
Tried 106FF for the first time on Meguiars Polishing Pad - Dewalt 849 - 1000-1400-1000, Love it. I need to get some SIP for compounding
Alcohol Wipedown
ZPC - Meguairs Cut Pad - Via PC Speed 5-6
ZAIO - Meguiars Cut Pad - Via PC Speed 4-5
Z6 wipedown
Z5 x 1
Z2 x 1
Z16 on Tires x2
Rims - ZAIO x1 and Z2x1

Interior :
Woolite and water on carpets and extracted with my Durrmaid
Wipe down vinyl with soapy water
303 on everything

Pics don't do it justice...All in all this was a 19 hour job over 3 nights after work.

Wheels Before - yes they needed some love

Wheels after == sorry for the smudgy paint, still had not wiped off final coat of Zaino

I didn't take many before photos of the paint, I wish I had now.

Wow indeed. You should have charged him for the new rims. Looks good, anymore afters?

The rims have a nice clearcoat on them. But they were nasty.

I have a few more afters. The hood is carbon fiber, polished with ZPC and ZAIO

What did you use on the exterior trim?

Kenney -
Anything on the exterior got 303, with the exception of the tires. I'm addicted to 303

Re: 2003 Evo VIII - Pearl Black

How ironic is this post!

Looks great btw!

A few weeks ago i ran into a rather successful lawyer here in town. He has an EVO MR along with a few other really nice cars. He is probably one of the only people who can talk cars just as much as me and not get tired. My dad knows him and he says he is a pretty good guy. Anyway we ran into him tonight at dinner and after next weekend (hes going to be in myrtle beach) he is going to give me a call to work on it. It is the red color. How hard is the paint?
