2005 BMW 325i + NXT 2.0! (60+ pics)

This is my first C&B for the return of the detailing season as the warm weather has finally decided to return! I'm very happy for this and can't wait to get back into the grind.

Saturday I had the pleasure of detailing a black BMW 325i. The paint hasn't received the greatest care over its life (I know the owner), and has never been detailed till now. With that said, I arrived to the house expecting my work to be cut out for me, but I quickly thanked the uber-hard clearcoat on this vehicle for holding up so well.

All pictures were edited for license plate, border and slight exposure issues. The camera was lent to someone and came back with the settings all erased and a few things not working properly so I apologize in advance for any variance in pictures. I tried to keep the pictures as consistent as possible so as to avoid any misrepresentation of how NXT 2.0 looks on this vehicle.

Pre-wash

After I discovered how filthy the bay was, I couldn't help but do something, despite it not being part of the detail.

Engine bay received a few sprays of Purple Power @ 3:1, and then a quick rinse only.

The rims were cleaned with Meg's Versa Angle brush and AG's deep reach wire wheel brushes + Meg's Hot Rims wheel cleaner. First time using this product as it came in the Meg's kit and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. It smells a bit off though.
Tires cleaned with EO All Wheel & Tire cleaner.

The car was then rinsed down and washed:
- Meg's Gold Class Shampoo
- Double-buckets + Grit Guard
- Sheepskin Wool Mitts

After washing, I brought the car into the garage to clay.
Clay was done with Meg's consumer grade clay, as the car is almost always garage parked. Contamination was very light.
After claying, I started the paint correction. This detail was only for a 1 step, so I decided on SIP and a white 6" Sonus foam pad.

Spread the polish at 1000rpm, and worked it down at 1400rpm. The surrounding areas are untouched. RIDS remain.

Continued on next post.....

Some pics after all the polishing was completed:

*don't mind the streaking

The car was then rinsed down, dried with WW MF, wiped with IPA, and treated with NXT 2.0 by hand.
Rims received poli-seal, and tires were dressed with 303.

Afters, and lots of them:

Thanks for looking! Comments, criticisms, questions and suggestions are welcome!

Why does he have two different types of tires on the car?

Michelin and Continental?

Nice work though.

Not quite sure to be honest (about the tires). One of those tires needs to replaced though because the sidewall has a bulge :S

Thanks for comments!

Nice work on the exterior. Also, the engine bay was just plain nasty! It was a good idea you did a quick spray down with it. Great work!

Interior is getting done today. It was way too filthy for just a quick detail, which is what I offer as part of my exterior services - vacuum, wipedown, dressing and conditioning of leather seats. Unless of course they want something extra.

Thanks for all the comments! SIP worked really well indeed.

I'll post interior pics today or early tomorrow.

Oh, looking forward to it. I only meant it as a compliment, considering how well you did with the exterior
