Re: My 2008 CTS

NICE!! Black looks sooo nice when a full Zaino treatment is done!

To remove the emblems, I always use waxed dental floss. Less chance of marring the finish than with fishing line. Nylon lines can really dig into the finish if caught between the adhesive and the actual finish.

Enjoy the new toy!!!

Thanks for the tip. I think the dental floss is the safe way to go.

Re: My 2008 CTS

Scott - to add to the good advice already given, it really helps (not as much an issue since your car is new) to heat up the emblem (and the adhesive behind it) first with either a heatgun on low or a hair dryer (safer unless you're careful). This will make the floss or fishing line cut thru like butter, if you need it at all. I've not tried wd40 as I have the proper tool in the cabinet, which works fantastic - a spray can of citrus based 3M adhesive remover. It's like goo gone but much better. Spray it, wait about 15 secs and it all wipes away with a paper towel. Hope this helps and good luck. The car looks great!

I'm hoping that GM releases the CTS coupe in 2009!
The CTS Coupe looks great. Hopefully it will drive as good as it looks.

Thanks everyone. My previous car was a 04 G35. The CTS feels more upscale, but it is heavier so its a little different when driven aggressively.

Re: My 2008 CTS

Ya the fishing line is a good idea but its probably monofilament; the plasticy feeling line, and that can probably dig into the finish pretty good. Plus it stretches.

Wow, an foreign-car owner going back to GM...that is like unheard of.

The new CTS is just that good. GM makes some good products now, but they have to recover consumer confidence. Good products like the CTS, Malibu, and Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade really help their cause.

The recall notice I just got on my '06 isn't doing much for my confidence. No recalls on my '90 (not that it didn't have its share of in-warranty problems, but at least no safety recalls).

Re: My 2008 CTS

If there are no buffer trails, then you must not have let Moritz touch the paint before you got the car.

Knew you had to be from around here based on the house and driveway even before I saw that hideous Moritz emblem they glued to your car (heat gun and dental floss/fishing line will take care of it, btw...but often, just some heat and I can remove them by hand by slowly pulling it off-usually takes the adhesive with it).

I would definitely suggest you NOT allow Moritz to wash your car when you bring it in for servicing. Not only do they do a pretty crappy job, but the grease they put on the tires will sling off and end up on the side of your car as soon as you drive it.

Really good looking car, Cadillac really has improved over the last several years, especially the interiors. Very nice, reflective shine on yours.

Re: My 2008 CTS

Looks great!! Nice reflections. Sounds like Scott has dealt with some cars from your dealer so I'd definitely listen to him...
