Re: Do You Stress About Money?

Among my circle of friends, those that either dropped out of college or never went
are doing better financially (most started their own businesses). And "happiness"
has more to do with personality than anything else...

Re: Do You Stress About Money?

I think we all stress about money at one time or another. It's part of the natural order of things.

Re: Do You Stress About Money?

Sit down and figure out your budget!

My wife and I did this and were really surprised how much we spent on food/eating out. Here is a great spreadsheet we've been using that lists out your income and all of your expenditures. It's end result is supposed to see what you can afford for a car, but all in all, its a great tool to use for life.

Re: Do You Stress About Money?

My father is constantly stressing out about finances. When I was growing up, we didn't have much but my Father was a hell of a provider. When my parents split, times were very tight.. I remember a period of a year that My Father, my Brother and I slept on the floor of a living room because we could not afford anything better.

Years down the road my father owns 1.2 million in property, has a business that was thriving..but since the economic crash, its not do AS well....It seems like every time I speak with my father, or I go hang out with him hes crying about money.

I simply remind him of everything we have been through, where we came from and where we will never go back to.

Thats how I deal with the stress of money. There was a time where I didn't have two nickles to rub together...seriously. Now I have a career in Law Enforcement with a steady stable income that is economy proof...thank god. Money is tight, I live on my own, im 23 paying everything myself with no help..and it sucks sometimes. But I always have my constant reminder of where I once was and I can think back and say...Yeah, I've seen harder times.

Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week. Want money? Tired of being broke? Ok stop talking about it and produce some results.
And this is one of two reasons I want to become a great detailer...for the money, plus I enjoy it. Its therepy.

Re: Do You Stress About Money?

Money is always a stressful topic. 3 years ago I had just under $500,000 in the bank today I'm lucky if I have $5 in the bank (usually they tend to be in negitive accounts these days) I opened 3 buisnesses with the money. All started off quite well But due to getting involved with some shady business partners I lost alot including 3 cars and 2 houses. It's stressful but I'm not overly worried about it. Money is something I've never cared to much about. It comes and goes in waves. I'm unfortunatly in the re-couping and rebuilding stages in a very bad economy. Which makes things interesting to say the least. But I honestly don't have a clue what I would do if there wasn't some sort of major issue I need to solve or something. It's always been like that for me. That's why people love being around me. I tend to have an overly positive attitude in real life that is addicting. People don't know why I don't just "freak out" about alot of the things that happen. Hopefully in a couple years from now I'll be back to having some good bank roll. We'll see how it goes.
