Belmont Car Show 11/07

Sorry for the late posting of this folks, I simply forgot to do it. There will be a very large end of season car show at Belmont Racetrack in Elmont NY on Saturday and Sunday 11/06 and 11/07.

I'll be entering the Elky but only on Sunday as that is the day for judging. Typically we get as many as 1000 cars coming to this event so if anyone can come please come on down. To be judged you need to be there by 10:00AM, otherwise you can come in at anytime.

Come say hello!

The company that runs those shows is terrible.

I have seen cars there surrounded by trophies. As a spectator it is so distracting to look at the vehicle and I don't understand why points are not taken away for that.

They are a great group of people. They run a good show and they are known for their fair judging.

There's nothing wrong with showing off trophies, after all, it's all part of the show and people are proud of their accomplishemnts. The judges pay no attention to the trophies though, they only look at vehicle condition and if you have the required equipment.

In any case, well over 1,000 cars showed up and we took First in Class (1980 to 1995 Modified) with the El Camino. So far that's two firsts in two shows. Lots of pictures here

I know so many people with great cars that no longer go to any of that company's shows. I know of one person who can win a trophy down at the Concours at Amelia Island but can't win a trophy there. There is a lot more to judging than just vehicle condition and required equipment.

I went to the show on Sunday at Belmont. It was so disappointing. There were hardly any real good cars there. Nothing spectacular that's for sure IMO.

I saw better cars down at the old Oak Beach Inn parking lot that morning.

The best show that I went to on Long Island this year was at Robert Moses parking Field 4 at the end of September. Wonderful variety of cars.

I've been to Robert Moses a few times. It's pretty good, there's usually different cars there. I go to Bald Hill tuesday night's during the summer. There's mostly older muscle cars and stuff like that, but if you're into imports, there's a section in the back for them.
