sad day in Jag-land
Some of you know that we've been negotiating to sell the lovely white '75 Jaguar coupe. Today, the deed was done.
We sold her to man in Massachusetts who knows and loves Jaguars, and seems very excited to own this car and ready to give her the loving attention she deserves. (If he doesn't, may his entire body break out in hives! ) He arranged to have her transported by closed transport. This afternoon the trucker arrived, and we had to say farewell to this beauty. (How ironic that we did the transfer across from a funeral home, seen at the left of this photo.)
I was impressed by the care the driver took. In fact, once he got the Jaguar into the trailer, before he opened the door, he placed a towel between the Jaguar door and the side of the trailer -- just to be sure he didn't hit the door against the side of the trailer.
The rumors that I was sobbing as she left are somewhat exaggerated.

No, that's the double-whammy, Mr Concours. The red Jag's "on the auction block" too. My ol' heart is breakin'.

Lynn- That must've been tough...but I commend you on having seen the writing on the wall and for responding accordingly. Nice to know she's going to a good home and that the driver is taking good care of her.

Lynn it is a truly sad day when you part ways with an old friend...Especially when it was as nice as that one.
Are you sure those sobbing rumors were exaggerated? I am sure they wouldnt have been if it was mine.

Lynn,
Having recently sold a 67 MGB I owned for 25 years, I share your feelings of loss. There is something about a British vehicle that makes the loss a little more sad...............

Yes, Lynn, I know the emotional stress you are going through. It took me a week to stop saying..."What did I do? What did I do?"
I still walk by the trophy case and see all the awards garnered over the years and have to sigh. But I know it was time to move on.
You have just as many awards on your mantle and you should be proud of what you have accomplished with the Jag. But it's time to focus on a future project.
You will start to get over it when you begin your search for a new "baby". That's much of the fun.
Ta Jag-u-ar! Cheers!

See, Lynn, if you'd buy me a jag you'd never get attatched to it. And you'd be sure I'd take good care of it!

Wow, that must have been very tough Lynn.
But I guess that's life, and you'll still have the fond memories.....
