Car show shine not worrying much about protection?
What would be some products to get a really wet jaw dropping appearance. Not so worried about protection and I've got the polishing prep work done. I'm thinking a glaze like Vanilla Moose and then some #81 hand polish. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

VM and Souveran. Used it on the that Rolls Royce Phantom I detail. Insanely wet looking. Too bad the owner is out of town and while I had his garage door opener, no keys to move the car out and get real good pics.

If your paint is in great shape, you can try Meguiar's #7 (Show Car Glaze). I tried that and some folks at our concours thought I had applied a dozen coats of Zaino. But if you want to try #7, be sure and read Mike Phillips' tips in the Hall of Fame. I didn't have any problems when I tried it as a newbie, but apparently, some folks do.

It's Clearkote's Vanilla Moose. You'll find most of our often-used acronyms here [There's a link to it from the upper-left corner of the homepage.]

Lynn-a more user friendly alternative to #7 is #81 Hand Polish but that is something you would have to order or buy through a professional product distributer. Both products look truly excellent, but #81 is far easier to use.

I have both, so when would #7 be better to use than #81? Just wondering if I should donate my #7 to a friend.

#7 on single stage paints (which is all there were when it came out about 70 years ago) and #81 on clear coats.

Good tip, Scottwax. I think I'd seen that comment before, but somehow it slipped my mind. I'll have to look for some #81. Sometimes, when I don't have time to do the full sealant routine, I just grab Megs glaze for a concours. Sounds like I need to make the switch to #81.
