Remote Car Starters

Who makes a good one, and where is the best place to purchase?

Thanks.

Re: Remote Car Starters

I've had two installed at Best Buy and never had a problem with them. Little expensive though.

Prestige has the most reliable systems from installation experience. They just don't fail. Try this one if you want 2-way, and if not, try this one

Re: Remote Car Starters

yeah, prestige is a fairly fail-proof brand. it's made by audiovox, and haven't seen many problems out of them. I'm partial to DEI personally, but there are other great brands out there.

Re: Remote Car Starters

BTW, DEI includes Viper, Clifford, and others. All good. The new VXL lines have something like 1/2 mile range...amazing.

Re: Remote Car Starters

I've had 3 DEI Remote Start systems, and haven't had any problems with them at all. One was a Viper, and the other two were Cliffords.

My suggestion is go with the one that offers you both, the features you are looking for, AND a very good warranty. If a problem should arise, you want someone that you can go to for help, and won't give you problems. This goes for any aftermarket type automotive product, but mostly for electronics, imo. There are a lot of really good brands out there at a vast range of pricing. I'd shop the seller/installer/warranty provider more than the product on this one, within reason of course.

I have had five or six DEI system, absolutely no issues, even washed/abused the heck out of remotes and they still came back for more. Also have friends that have a stereo store, they love DEI.
