window tinting the moonroof

I'm thinking of tinting my moonroof in my new honda element as the manufacturer's shade screen apparently is flimsy. does anyone know of or have heard of tinting a moonroof affecting the seal?

mine has been tinted for the past 11 years without any issues. I can't see how tint would affect the seal since it's just a film being placed on top of the glass, they don't cut the seal at all.
