agreed, and honda is always re-inventing themselves and aren't afraid too for the most part. with toyota, there styling seems boring, too conservative, and not really sporty either (also don't like how the inside seats kinda high as well). their trucks are nice however. oh well, to each his or her own...

Not quite that old. The last redesign for the Corolla was 2003.

I think out of all the Japanese economy cars, the Mitsu Lancer has the best outward appearance. Then the Civic, Mazda 3, tC, Sentra, and whatever else is left.

The current gen camry is UGLY! Unless you get the dealer body kit, but then the stock wheels does not match with it. As for that new Corolla, it looks the same as the last gen except for the front.

I'm liking the new Accord V6 and V6 coupe 6mt. Now that's a car worth getting.

The new Camry ugly? No I don't think so. I thought that Toyota tried to change from the dull safe look and take a chance with a design that was trendy and different.

I was hoping that that thinking would carry over to the new Corolla, it did but not in the way I had hoped. Now it like we have two Camrys, midsize and compact.

I guess the "cheaper base model" is UGLY since it has hub-caps (i can be wrong) and the body does not look right.

The V6 Camry looks good with the dealer accessories.

Agreement

except I don't think the camry looks nice at all...

I was really impressed with the new Accord and the coupe especially. In looking at the redesign, there were so many ways Honda could've gone completely wrong, but they didn't. The new Accord is just so much more aggressive than it used to be, and yet it still looks 100% thoroughbred driver's car. The only questionable styling cue is the door handles, which I agree seem to be upside down, but really, they're such a minor quibble in the grand scheme because the rest of the car just looks so darn good.

Re: 2009 Corolla at SEMA

Toyota is not going to make any dramatic changes until people stop buying the Camry or the Corolla. Judging by recent sales thats not about to happen so brace yourself for more of the same. At least they're not just slapping a new body onto an old design like Ford is doing with the Focus and Escape, there is actually real change under those boring exteriors.

Re: 2009 Corolla at SEMA

I guess I missed that at SEMA...we were too busy checking out the booth babes. :P

But seriously, I think the 09 Corolla looks nice. I can't stand the back up light holes on the rear end though.
