wow, that's pretty nifty, never thought about that/knew that you could do that!
as for what the guys said above about any cash u save can be used elsewhere, they have a good point. Since insurance is going to be in$@ne anyway, maybe what you want is a good practical and reliable car that will last you a long time but is still fun to drive (not Toyota!) What you might think about is a car like mine, a G3 Teg, or maybe a 00+ Civic, or an Accord V6, or for German cars, an older BMer 3 Series, or a used Mini CooperS, or a Merc C, or for domestic a Mustang or a Dodge SRT-4 or a Pontiac GTO or something.
it really all comes down to what do you want? domestics will fly off the line like nobody's business, so you can always have fun when ur first @ stoplights, imports (forgot to mention Mitsu and Subaru! My bad!) will be loads of fun making right turns on a green and you can slide around the corner @ speeds domestics and Euros can't match, Euros boast a lot of style and, depending on the make, will do either one pretty well.
Practicality? Well, consider interior room; will you be carrying more than 1 passenger often, how much will you be carrying in terms of luggage? I go to college, so I keep my books and things in the trunk, you might be going to HS, idk, will you be needing a lot of trunk space when you DO go off to college?
Reliability? Well, you can't beat Japs for reliability, but on the other hand, larger engines in general will last longer (more miles) because there is less strain per cylinder, that;s why the legendary HEMI is a freaking forever motor, more so the Cummins diesel than anything else.
So what is it that YOU want? And regardless of what you get, take good care of your car, and it will take good care of you.
incidentally, you might like to talk to owners of the cars you are interested in so that you can get opinions off them too! I could chat ur ear off (not that i'm not already

) about what i love and hate about my Teg, maybe you could make a better decision with the opinions of actual owners!
