Outdoor Parking

So, my Jeep has been banished from the garage and will now be a living a life parked outside. I have done everything possibly as far as security, however, I am concerned about protection from the elements. What should I do to protect the paint, plastic, leather, etc from the brutal Arizona sun? I am meticulous on keeping it waxed, but is there anything else I should be doing? It is five years old and could pass off as a year old. I would like to keep it that way. By the way, I apologized to it as I parked it lol.

You could buy those sunshades to keep your interior shaded. I need to buy one myself actually as my car is parked outside 24/7 even at work.

For paint, you can use any wax or sealant. You just have to make sure that with whatever wax you use, you reapply according to the expected durability. Obviously with something like Collinite, you'd wait 3-4 months (maybe more) before reapplying. With the inside parts (plastic, vinyl, dash, leather), I would recommend getting 303 Aerospace Protectant. According to the bottle, it uses SPF40, so that should be pretty good for protecting your interior from the sun. The sunshade is definitely a good idea as well.

I'm over near Luke AFB in the West Valley. I already have tinted windows from the factory except for the front windows. Thanks for the advice guys. I'm still not too happy about my vehicle living outside, but I guess what can you do.

I'd also get a car cover. My TL being a daily driver I park the car outside at home and when it's clean I put the car cover to avoid the moisture.

During the weekends if I'm home, I leave the car cover on to avoid the hot FL sun during the day until I go out.

Right now, a car cover would be good, although I am not sure how much they are. I just zaino'd the entire thing last weekend and, sure enough, a monsoon rolled through that afternoon and spotted the entire thing. Consequently, since I have to wash it anyways, I found some mud, which was fun but will need to come off before the weekend. Fortunately, I got covered garage parking for college, so it's not going to be as bad as I thought.

i live over at luke also. Tinted windows are a must, actually the guy did a test here on base and without tinted windows the inside of the car was over 160 degrees. Tints dropped it by over 40 degrees. Sunshades are another min, I just leave my car under a car cover now, and try to give it a waxing once a week if i dont have it under the cover a lot.
oh yea if you live in az another thing you might want to get is a calif duster

Are Calif Car Dusters safe? It seems like they would scratch the paint. And are you stationed at Luke or just live nearby?

My truck will also be getting the boot outside when my car gets painted in the next couple months.

90+ degree summers and -20 winters here in Minnesota are brutal on cars.

I am gonna set one of these up on the side of the house:

They are about the same price as a car cover, but it's way easier to not have to cover and un-cover the car all the time.
