Bad Tire Day on a 35 Ford Streetrod

Going down the highway with my 35 Ford about 10:30 at night and this happens...

Got her off to side of road as soon as I could and a wrecker ride home....

Re: Bad Tire Day on a 35 Ford Streetrod

Here is a lesson in modifying a car suspension. If you want to lower a car make use all body parts and underneath parts will clear the pavement even with a blow out or flat tire. This was a complete blow at highway speeds and could have been fatal if the suspension hit the ground and causing the car to switch lanes. As you can see this is a cell phone show the distance that I had after the blow out – not much and looks like the front might of hit slightly.

Here is what the car looks like without a flat tire...

Yikes, that's *not* much room...good thing there wasn't a lot of damage.

WOW that sucks. I have been there before and it sucks with lowered suspension. I blew a ball joint once and the whole tire assembly came off and was sparking everywhere.

Thank god the car is unharmed. That is one excellent paint job!
