Infiniti G35 Coupe
I've been recruited by my parents to do some research for them for their next car purchase. Considering the types of people I see on here, I figured this would be a good place to ask. Is there anyone who has had any experience with a 2004-2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe? Good experiences? Bad experiences?
I'll be doing the standard searches on Consumer Digest, epinions, Motor Trend, etc., but wanted to ask here as well. Thanks in advance.

Theres almost no headroom in the backseat so I wouldn't buy it to transport more than 2 ppl.

That's not really a requirement for them I don't believe. I'm off to college with their Jeep and I believe they are looking for a fun touring car to take to California.
EDIT: That was a very quick response by the way.

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
A "touring car" might include some trunk space for long trips.....
The Infinity G35 is a fun little sports car. Tell them to make a list of cars they like and test drive each car on the list. Take notes and compare pro's and cons. That's part of the fun when car shopping.....
Good luck.....

Yeah. They really have been comparing for a while. What I'm really looking for is first hand experiences on quality, daily drivability, and other long term aspects.

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
Wow. Disregard this entire post now. Lol. I knew the trunk was gonna be kinda small, but not 7 cubic feet small!

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
I've had a lot of second-hand (passenger) experience. I've ridden in the front and back several times. One would think of it as a sport tourer, but it is not by any means. I think of it as a Z with tiny back seat. It rides quite rough (especially in back) even with the 17" std tires/suspension. The front buckets are very supportive, but too narrow if you are medium build. Great car otherwise, but I wouldn't think of it as a comfortable, touring coupe.

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
If they want more space they could get the sedan. My friend's dad has an '05 G35x sedan and it's absolutely amazing, what a blast to drive. Plenty of room for trips and it's got speed to kill. The handling and braking is up in the top of all the cars i've driven. They won't be dissapointed.

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
Gas mileage is consumptive for an engine of its size. ~18-23 mpg mixed city/highway depending on how spirited the driving is. Some engines had oil consumption problems as well.
Overall an excellent vehicle.

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
My 2003 G sedan has been bulletproof and the funnest car to drive I've owned. The power and handling still impresses me every day. The car is no slouch, even compared to the coupe. It also has 14.5 cubes of trunk space (plenty big for a sedan).

Re: Infiniti G35 Coupe
I used to own a 05 InfinityG35 sedan. Going in I knew the interior was built and looked cheap. After a few months I could not take it anymore so I sold it and got a 05 Acura TL. The interior is so much better and the TL has many more technical gadgets than the G35. The TL is a superior car in everyway IMO.

You used to own an Infiniti, but can't spell the name correctly of the car you used to own. Acura the superior car? Hmm sounds fishy to me... FWD < RWD = not superior Sorry! Technical gadgets only go so far, and also leads to more potential problems. What makes a car is the fun to drive factor and the FWD Acuras will never be able to compete with true RWD sport sedans from Infiniti, BMW, Lexus, Audi and MB. If you want a bunch of gee whiz gadgets and a boring ride, then the Acura is the way to go, IMO. And, being that I have no problems with my interior, I guess I get a nice interior and a fun to drive car/driver's car = far superior to the posh Accord.
