Help me choose a color....

Hey guys,

I'm ordering a Cobalt SS next week and I'm having trouble picking a color. I know its a subjective thing, but I need some advice. I would love to have a nice bright blue or white, but sadly they dont make either I'm leaning towards silver, but its just so boring!

Color choice are:
Yellow
Orange
Silver
Black
Bright red
Dark red
Bright blue/purple

I know I don't want yellow or the blue as it way too purple. The dark red is very dark and is an extra cost, the bright red is nice, the silver is nice but as I said before a little boring. Orange is getting pretty played out, not sure its a color that will still be cool in 3 years.

Is buying a Black car stupid? Its very rare that you see a nice black car but when you do its beautiful! On the other hand silver always looks good. Red, black or silver?

Lets hear your opinions!

Re: Help me choose a color....

In my opinion...

Yes, you don't see too many black cars that look good. Black is great if you are willing to commit to keeping it nice. I did it for three years, but it got tiring.

Red would good on a car like yours. I think it is somewhat demanding to care for, though not as difficult as black.

As you said earlier, silver "always" looks good. That's because it is the easiest of the three to take care of, and shows surface defects the least of the three colors.

It all comes down to a question of how much the car will be driven, and how much you want to work to make it look it perfect.

Re: Help me choose a color....

But silver is a hard color to make look nice. I would definitely either choose the bright red or the black. Maybe the bright red would be my final choice.

I'd do red (if you won't do yellow). GM red rocks. The other colors are just too common, and red is making a comeback in the market right now.

A well maintained car always looks cool. Just keep it glossy. Everybody else’s will look like crap within nine months.

Re: Help me choose a color....

Having owned a zillion red and black cars, and having said "I'll *always have a black car", I'd vote for silver. Yeah, it *can* look special if you want to put in the work. But more importantly it can look good with very little time and effort.

For a garage queen, sure, pick a cool color and have fun. But for something that's gonna get used all the time I'd choose a color that doesn't need attention after the first five miles. Back when I had black (and to a lesser extent red) cars, I had to wash them so often that it was a major part of my life and I can think of better ways to spend one's time. And that's leaving aside the whole issue of visible marring...

Re: Help me choose a color....

Silver's too awkward for touching in paint defects IMO......it takes too many colours to make the silver, and can look out off place if you get any paint problems.

I've had four black cars now, and each one looked the dogs danglies when detailed, but 15 minutes later you'll be seeing that 'son-of-a-*****' dust layer. How much patience do you have ?

RED ROCKS !!
