2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan
pros and cons ??
i just test drove a 2007 honda civic SI four door sedan. this one would be equipped with the 197 hp VTEC engine, with six speed, and navigation system. i'm interested in comments on any known problems with these cars, or any reliability issues.
anybody have one of these? if so, are you happy with it?
i'll trade in my wife's '01 vw passat v6 sedan w/120K miles to get this car, with the intention of keeping it for six years or so.
we test drove a rallye red one. there was also a black one on the lot that we're interested in. anybody got a good photo of a black one? if so, please post them up.
thanks
bill

Re: 2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan
as a 7thgen civic 03 owner (i'm sure the 8thgen is no exception), i would have to say that they're one of the best bang for the bucks out there (require very little maintenance), and not to mention they hold their resale value very well (what honda civic haven't you've seen that has over 100,000+ miles and still runs like a champ!). i'm sure you will have to run premium gas for the v-tec engine, so take that into consideration as well... here's a thread about everyone's take on both honda and toyota on their good and bad points... http://autopia.org/forum/car-driver/...ighlight=honda
p.s. i was going to trade in the vic for an SI, but chose to keep it and wait till the 08 honda accord comes out, by then my car will be paid off ...

Re: 2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan
I have a '06 Si coupe in black. Love it to death. It's nice as a DD and the K-series engine is pretty versatile. It can be tame when farting around town but very gratifying when pushed. As was mentioned earlier, it does require premium (91 or higher) but I've averaged about 28 mpg with 95% city driving. As far as reliability is concerned it’s a Honda so no complaints there. In the end, it’s about the best all around bang for the buck you’ll find. Just my $.02.

Re: 2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan
I just test drove the Si sedan while waiting for my ridgeline to be serviced. The shifter was nice and its quite a nice car for the $$$. It just didnt have much punch, I was disappointed with the performance. I am sure after breakin things will loosen up a bit. The changeover with the vtec is really cool.

Re: 2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan
Never liked the accord 2 door. The 4 door is what I am waiting for
The Civic Si doesn't do one thing amazingly well but does everything well. Its like Honda hit the center of the dart board dead on. But some people may want a little more torque, or tighter handling, etc. Thats where the extensive Honda aftermarket comes in
