Woohoo

I've searched and searched and searched, and I tonight I finally found German Castrol 0w30 at Auto Zone.

I know most of you won't care, but too bad...I'm excited. This is one of the very best oils out there. The "supreme" oil change will be completed in the morning with a K&N filter (also one of the very best).

That is all...

Re: Woohoo

Congrats! I always love getting my oil changed to have that nice fresh oil running through the car I can always tell a difference in performance...but who knows if there really is. I always get the High RPM Oil, cant remember the brand right now for the life of me. But anywho..Congrats and hope it meets all your expectations!

I do understand your excitement for 0W30 GC! My van currently has green blood in it's veins.

Re: Woohoo

Congrats on your find! I've hit up at least 4 or 5 Autozones here in the DFW area with no luck. The ppl behind the counters keep offering me 5w30 as an alternative since TX does not get that cold...if they only knew...

Re: Woohoo

Good job! I can't find it anywhere around here.

On a side note, Esso XD-4 0w30 is quite popular over at BITOG as well.

Re: Woohoo

Zane,

I too, get excited about oil! You're not alone on this one. My excitement comes from synthetic oil, however. I love it! I'm a Mobil1 kinda guy. I've been running the extended life (15,000 mile stuff) through my vehicles engines since that stuff became available, even though I change my oil every 2500 miles. My 300C now has just under 2000 miles on it & I can't wait to make the change to my trusty Mobil1. ( today seems like a good day! ) Have fun with the German Castrol!! Looks like a sweet product!

Re: Woohoo

What luck! I've never been able to find it, local AZ doesn't stock it.

I guess its like the oil equivalent of Megs # 16.
Hasn't been discontinued but almost as hard to find.

Re: Woohoo

Never had any luck finding it here either. Never been too fond of Castrol but, wanted to at least try GC as it does seem to get a lot of raves...

I have a case of Mobil 1R 0W-30 on order though to use in the Mustang for the coming winter months.

Re: Woohoo

Zane,

How much did it run ya? I think I'm paying $28 or so for Mobil 1 5w30. I've been running that and a trusty ole AC Delco PF52 forever, and the ole LT1 is still kickin.
