Well, that's just fine by me, since that's the only Chrysler product I've ever owned!
I agree, DCX's concept dept. is top-notch, and their products change very little from concept to production(look at the Plymouth Prowler, Crossfire, and the upcoming Challenger). They are willing to take big design risks, and they usually pay off with very distinctive vehicles.(Can't you take a hint, Ford and GM?? )
German cars are still the object of my affection, and will probably stick with them as long as I can afford them! | I am a car lover in general and like many different makes and models. There have been a few DCX cars lately that have caught my eye i.e dodge magnum and jeep commander but the Nitro seems to be pushing the envelope a bit further than these examples. Perhaps it's because the Nitro is technically a mid-size suv, which is a category that until now hasn't had any design innovations to speak of and practically no muscle when it has come to engines.

We went looking originally for a used Cherokee or a new Liberty for the wife. I seen the Nitro and fell in love with it and for the price and lifetime warranty I couldn't pass on it. The wife had to look at it a few minutes but now every weekend she wants me to wash it she loves it also.

The last one was an 00 Ram, with over 80k miles and not one issue inside or out. But I do like the Nitro esp. the HEMI powered Nitro. Just wish gas wasn't so high or I might go get me one.

I may be a bit biased though, my family owned a couple mid '90s Dodge vehicles for many years and I can only hope that their reliability (and paint quality) has increased since that time. About the only thing Dodge ever did that I cared for is the Ram pickup. I've got a cousin with a Ram, seems put together pretty well.
Just my 2 pennies.
- Andrew | I agree, what a waste of sheet metal. It just goes to show that a lot of the new car buyers have hideous taste. I think it is the same chasis as the Jeep compass, terrible. It seems like a repeat of how bad the cars looked from 1973 through the 1980's. Two thumbs down for this car. Looks like a range rover? You must not have many range rovers in your town.

Nitro shares chassis with new Liberty (or vice versa -- since Nitro was out first). I would drive any of them, but I don't know if I would buy any of them . Nitro 4.0 is quite quick for it's class.

I thought it was one of the ugliest cars on the road the minute I saw it. It looks like a big car stuffed into the body of a tiny car. Nothing about it is appealing to me.

Although there probably wouldn't be a lot of takers but the concept is interesting. In Oklahoma you see the Nitro's quite a bit. I know when we bought ours they had just really started coming out and the lot said they started with sixty and were down to ten. I think a lot more guys especially are more willing to drive a Nitro than a Liberty. I do like the new Liberty body style, a little more aggresive.
