I hope the final product is close to what they speculate.

LOL...I'm sure a different form of "investment" would get you closer to that 'Vette!

EDIT: Now that I actually read the thing, 650hp!? Now, if GM could just come out with some even bigger trucks than they just did and get the little-old-lady Buicks up to 350hp, maybe OPEC will see the light and lower oil prices

I know this wasn't the point of the car, news release, or thread, but $100K super-Vettes aren't what's going to save GM.

That thing is sweeeet, I think Z07 is the best name for it, *not* SS makes me think of the Cobalt

I wish Chevy/GM would start making a more appealing car in the 20-30k range.

Not to hi-jack the thread Danase, but did anyone see the link to this Porsche Sedan

A $100,000 Chevy! What is this world coming to ?

The performance is there, no doubt, I just hope they do something with that horrendous interior for that pricetag ...But then again, look at the XLR-V .

Bingo!

<whispering> Saturn Aura

And no, I haven't sat in one...it could still be just as crappy inside as its G6 brother.

I can't wait to see the finished Porsche. Although I wish Porsche would stick to Sports cars and stay out of the luxury and luxury SUV wars.

As for the Vette I think that will be a fair price tag if it can compete with the Ford GT. However, they should do something more to make that Vette stand out in my opinion. I mean i see a lot of GT's around Detroit and when you see one there is no mistaking what you just saw. The Vettes sort of all blend together to me.

and stat! When I saw the XLR interior, I was embarassed for GM. My mom has a CTS and I think the interior in that is terrible as well

GM has realized their problem with interiors at least...the new Saturns' interiors blow the Caddy's away

I am sure it won't be like the G6. That chassi is actually a nice one. It is an Opel / Saab design.

I notice this too. My parents always drive Buicks. They are nice cars in my opinion but the interior goes from a nice leather seat to a cheap plastic center console that rattles and feels like the plastic used on kids toys you find in the dollar stores. It is sort of what kept me out of a Silverado and into a F-150.

That thing is beautiful! I seen a light-blue/silver one on the road and wow...It definately does not look like your typical "Saturn" I think Chevy/Pontiac are losing what is really important to car buyers while Hyundai, Saturn, Mazda are putting out cars that meet the needs of their customers at a price that isn't out of this world.

Are they even on the showroom floor yet? I haven't seen them at my local dealership.

The current Z06 is already competing pretty closely to the GT. The '09 should obliterate the GT in current form.

I agree the interior could be stepped up on all GM vehicles, but $100k for that level performance, handling, etc. is incredible.
