2003 Ford SVT Cobra...

390 horses direct from SVT. Article in this months Motor Trend, est. price $35,000. A whole lot of bang for the buck. I do hear test drive in my near future.

Not bad atall coming from SVT. Looks like Saleen might have some competition.

Speaking of SVT...I recall one of the best cars I've ever seen.

The 00 SVT Cobra R

It was on a trailer going the other way on the highway.

Rather odd as I have seen many cars on trailers on the highway near where I live WHICH IS OUT IN THE BOONIES. (By I-44 around OK and MO border) Let's see I've seen: Saleen Grand am GTO(Saleen SR for Granturismo2fans), a Ferrari F40, a Ferrari 360 Modena, and 2 DeTomaso Panteras and plenty others I don't remember off the top of my head...

2000 Cobra R

Saw 2 of those on auction on ebay last month. Awesome car. I am having some regrets about buying the GT. A good friend of mine is buying a BMW M3 this weekend and he is eager to have me eat some Geman dust as soon as he get it. That new Cobra is looking better every minute ! However my wife will react like a Roman Emporer if I even try to talk her into another trade-in this year.

That's alot of horsepower from a 4.6 liter... to get the 390 hp they had to install an Eaton supercharger. The only down side is the fact that they had to switch from the aluminum 4.6 block to a cast iron 4.6 block, and the fore/aft weight suffered. Unfornately that's going to affect the handling characteristics.

Rumor has it that the aluminum block couldn't handle the stress... Ford won't comment on the details.

They are going to produce approximately 12,000 Cobras... that's twice as many as usual.

Yeah, I know the feeling. If my wife sees me even glancing through the car section of the newspaper, I get the LOOK. :scared
