Wow, you even gave us beat. It's $1.20/L here, so $4.60 a gallon, but that's CAD - so about $4.20USD. Nutty.

Gouging criminal. I just got Mobil gas for $3.29 (93 octane) per gal 10 miles away in Nassau County. What a joke.

I remember when I was able to fill up my 20 gallon tank with $20..

Well today I filled up and paid around $57.

But what am I gonna do? Stop buying gas? I gotta go to work and class, so as long as I can still buy gasoline, I'll probably keep paying for it.

We talked about this today in our Business Ethics class - People are going to do exactly what truzoom said. As much as we complain and hate it, we are going to continue to purchase gas because we have to. The problem is our lifestyles are going to change because we wont have that extra money for the other things we want..So going out to eat for example will be cut down, leading to businesses cutting the amount of employees, leading that guy not being able to afford gas at all - prices need to drop and something needs to be done. $71 a barrel is ridiculous...I remember hearing at one point the amount gas actually costs is so minimal compared to what we pay for it, its just that the government allows for the prices to be how they are because of the demand we as Americans have for gas....

I often pay $3.00 or more a gallon even when others are paying in the 2 range...Having a supercharged engine isn't always fun..But what am I going to do? Im going to keep paying for my premium gas because that is what I need to do to keep going to my job to pay my bills plain and simple. I know people might chime in and tell me to buy a car that takes unleaded, but I am not complaining because it was my decision to have this car and Im fine with it...there are going to be unexpected costs we just have to deal with for the time being
