The New 2007 Toyota Camry....(pics 56k ok)

Hey,

After seeing, and sitting in, the new 2007 Camry, I can say that I wasn't really impressed. The exterior design looks clunky to me, and the front fascia and the logo placement drive me crazy! It's ugly IMHO!!

Also, I had really high hopes for the interior, but it is pretty dull, and shows no creativity on Toyota's part because it looks like they carbon-copied the current Accord.

Overall, the new Camry is evolutionary, but certainly not revolutionary...As a Honda fan myself, I was really interested in what Toyota would bring with the new Camry...and they really only bring horsepower and reliability to the table, which makes me very excited to see how the next Accord will respond to this 'ante up' by Toyota...

Here are some pics I took of the Hybrid:

I like it. It seems like a copy of the Mazda 6 from some views.
Better get used to the logo emblem placement lots of companys are going to it.
Its a styling trend that I don't really like but maybe I will get accustom to. The trend I really hate is the cut in trunk or step bumper in the rear. The 07 Camry is using it and so is the 06 Accord. It make the cars look like little pick-up truck from the rear.

the front is comical, the rear is ok, but I'd still never ever consider it because the accord is so much better.

I kind of like it. But then again, I also like the new Audi's and 5 series trunk line.

It has a lot of Lexus feel to it which is good IMO.

I wouldn't call it boring. The Camry's of the late 90's early 2000's were boring. At the very least, it has a much chunkier feel to it.

As for the front, compared to a Tribeca, it's beautiful

At the end of the day, it's conservative enough that Toyota won't lose any of it's current followers and just that bit edgey enough that it may get some Honda owners to consider one. I doubt highly it will cause a Camry buyer to switch to Honda.

This is an old trend that goes well back into the 90's. It's the "low lift-over" thing.
