Compared to an 06 Honda Accord, the car is simply design wise a few years ahead. The Accord is looking far more dated.
Toyota 07
Considering the conservate nature of a Camry buyer, the look of the 07 Camry is more progressive than the Honda offering.
I'm actually an Acura fan versus either Toyota or Honda. The new Lexus IS is a new design change from the old version.

....and when the '07 Accord comes out it will be just a year or so from a complete redesign. Take the two cars for a drive and come back and talk.

SpoiledMan,
At the end of the day, very very few Camry drivers will every put the car to outer most limits. Most of the target demographic is more keen on the look of a vehicle, the brand and reliability factor.
Honda owners are typically looking for a bit more performance.
For driving in a Major city (which is probably where most of the Camry's are sold), in stop and go traffic, it's a matter of personal taste than it is outright performance.
Performance of an Accord vs Camry - Advantage Accord
Reliability and Customer Service - Advantage Honda (by a hair)
Styling of the Camry vs. Accord - Advantage Camry
Current Buzz in the Auto Industry - Advantage Toyota
Racing Buzz - Advantage Toyota
At the end of the day, the 2 are pretty much toe to toe. If you look at the number of vehicles sold, Camry sales are typically about 10-20% higher (~40,000) than the number sold by month for that of an Accord (35,000) in the US. Worldwide, the divide grows even bigger.

I really hope Honda doesn't see it fit (oh bad pun) to increase displacement of their engines to compete. Or size. I want to see some good designing.

Why would one steal sales from the other?

You did good til you got to the industry buzz and racing. Honda just made automotive history with two vehicles. Do you really think racing when you think Toyota? Where are they in F1? The IRL is dominated by Honda. I's also say that reliability and service is probably a toss up. Styling is completely subjective as we can see by this thread.

I wish there was a way to see actual sales to individuals as that weeds out those that are rented. I can rent a Camry at pretty much any of the major rental companies. A Honda car for rent is very rare in the US.

Honda seems to be doing just fine with the J30 that the current Accord uses and makes ~240 HP with. I'm pretty sure we'd see something happen with the TL first and then the Accord.

I was very unimpressed by the 2006 Camry SE interior. Honda Accord, IMO, is way up there, alongside Mazda6's interior.
This new 2007 interior looks just as boring... there's no interesting lines, or colors or accents or anything...

TOYOTA is going to NASCAR thats were the racing is at in the US. IRL, nobody and I mean nobody pays any attention to IRL, I always expect to see those cardboard spectators at IRL TV broadcasts.
Honda in F1 is like a secret, the BAR team. Not the Honda team. I agree that Honda has always had the best engines in what every series they competed but people just don't know about it.
Toyota has pulled a major upset in the Toyota-Honda war with their announcement of competing in the 07 NASCAR.

Yeah, nobody watches the Indy 500 anymore.
I don't really think the two manufacturers really compete along the racing lines. As hard as Toyota tried and as much money as they put into the CHAMP cars, they didn't stand a chance until Honda ended developement. They wont even chance F1. What do you think will happen when/if Honda shows up and decides to turn left? IMHO, Toyota had better do very good in their entry or they will be roasted in the auto press. If history runs true they wont have a very good showing.
Does this look like Honda going racing on the down low?

Better get used to the logo emblem placement lots of companys are going to it.
Its a styling trend that I don't really like but maybe I will get accustom to. The trend I really hate is the cut in trunk or step bumper in the rear. The 07 Camry is using it and so is the 06 Accord. It make the cars look like little pick-up truck from the rear.

yes it looks like a mazda. I guess that is what toyota considers sporty.
