Dakar or WRC on TV?

I'm not exactly a Nascar kind of guy, but I used to love watching rally racing on SpeedTV. Since they've dropped the coverage, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that's picked up coverage on the Dakar Rally or WRC racing. Can anyone help me find a fix?

Wow, I did not know that Speed dropped the WRC. I watch almost every race. Really, there is very little else on speed that interests me. Way too much NASCAR.

I should qualify my statement. I had SpeedTV a couple years ago and at that time they were definitely cutting down their WRC coverage. Since that time I've occasionally searched TV listings and SpeedTV.com for any sign of a broadcast without any luck. If someone can prove me wrong, I'd be thrilled. I haven't had cable or dish installed since I moved 6 months ago, but this is the sort of thing that would make it worth my while.

Well, I know right now that WRC is on a break, until I believe the 20th. I had watched the last WRC and there was no mention of speed dropping it, but when you posted this thread, I went to the speed website, and there is no mention of them carrying the WRC anymore.

I guess I will just have to wait until Sunday evening on either January the 22nd, or 29th to find out for sure.

I know it's not WRC season, but I'd love to catch at least a decent daily highlights show for the Dakar.

Dakar is on at 3:00 central time on the OLN channel. It's not repeated at night. Sux because my wife is always taping something at that time.
I caught it last week when I was home sick. The coverage was better than it has been. They did 10 minutes for bikes, 10 for cars and 10 for big trucks. The trucks usually got the short end of the stick in the past.
I haven't heard much about WRC, but I have heard that Speed is picking it up again this year.

This is the off season for WRC. During the season each event is covered, and usually aired sunday nights at around 9 pst

Right you are. I watched almost all the events this past season, along with all the F1 races. I somehow managed to miss every single NASCAR event this year!!! Speed is showing a lot of British Touring Car and DTM races lately although I believe they're delay broadcasts or repeats of the past season. No matter, there's some great racing there.

Oh, and all the SCCA runnoffs stuff that was on a few weeks back - great stuff that!

That is what I thought, but when I checked the speed site it had no mention of carrying the WRC series. When I checked the Sundays following the first WRC event, I didn't see them listing a time to show the WRC.
I am pretty sure it would have been mentioned if they weren't to carry it next season. Even if it isn't the most popular program on speed, there is a very loyal following and someone would have mentioned something about it.

I believe Speed Channel still shows WRC races. It no longer has the WRC Magazine, which was pretty neat. It's hard to record the WRC races on my DVR because the description is always Auto Racing, but I caught a couple late last year. It's going to be interesting next season without the French auto makers.
