Video - The making of a BMW 3-series (E46 style)

I saw this video over a year ago, but it was brought to my attention again last evening. I am re-watching it now and absolutely loving it...even though its in German. The video does the talking for this particular process

Note the painting techniques, use of paint thickness gauge, and MF towels .

Excellent find.

What impressed most is the level of automation used to
reduce work related injury. The machines to lower
car seats in the cockpit, and machines to run in and torque
lug studs, were pretty cool. I was surprised though to see
how much the parts seeeed snapped on, like the badges
and even portions of the dashboard.

That is a cool video indeed

Too bad that it seems that the new 3-Series aren't built as flawlessly as the E46s.

Cool vid. i loved to see the brazing to seal the body panels together. I have a new idea about BMW quality.

If you go the BMW Group website they have a whole section devoted to how their cars are made, including more videos.
