When someone decides the middle of the street is a turn lane!
This is what happens when someone decides that the middle lane should be the turning lane and slams on her brakes in the middle of the street to make a turn right in front of the cars in the left turn lane, and whoever is behind her.. well.. runs into each other. I'm so upset with last nights events I need to choke someone! Oh and my comptech supercharger and front header are now embedded into the engine, power steering pump is crushed, and line is chopped in half, compressor is shot, right headlight lense shattered, and xenon bulbs popped, etc.... Theres another problem, the "gal" that caused the accident.. well... took off. The person in front of me skimmed her bumper, I slid into the person in front of me after she locked up the brakes, thanks to a nice pile of salt on the damn street, and then the person behind me was able to brake and swerve and just scrape the back of my car. The "gal" took off down the street and no one was able to see her plate, all anyone could tell the cop was that it was a lime green bettle! If they find her they'll get her with all sorts of violations including "illegal lane usage", but if they don't guess who's taking the majority of the beating. I wasn't given a ticket, but I'm still screwed as far as insurance paying for my car and the car in front of me.
I just had the thing washed too!!! At least it looked good going out.
Anyone who wants higher quality PM me, they aren't going to be the best hosting them on photobucket.

hey badsl65amg,
i know how you feel. my sister had her brand new 05 acura tsx for less than 4 months and some 19 year old kid in a hemi (his excuse was he was falling asleep and it figures he had to choose the lane my sister was in at 3am in the morning), crushed the back of the car (impact was so hard, back window blew out) and the insurance company wouldn't total it out because there was too much money still owed on it (frame damage and all). and to top it off... it's been over 3 months and she still hasn't gotten it back! luckily, she was okay and now has an attorney to help fight to compensate for the salvage damages due to the accident when she trades it in. most importantly.... glad your okay, and hope things get better!

Hey Bad, sorry for that mess, it sure is a bummer. But I believe they will find that "terminator" of a lady.
The damage looks not so bad from outside but the description you laid forth terrifies...
Whatever the material cost, I feel your pain as though it happened to me... well try and look at it from the bright side. At least that lady did not cause some 18 wheeler swirve and wipe out all of you guys wound up in that mini-pile-up. And surely, thank God that you weren't hurt or injured...
It sure is the worst of what you could have gotten for a season' s greeting and gift but you are there unhurt an that makes us happy as your "virtual pals"...
I wish you good luck with your insurance. But make sure you file a complaint for that hit and runner. Otherwise she will get only punished for her traffic behavior and get arrested for a night or two, paying some fine and walking away. That won' t help you unless you claim your damages in advance by filing a full complaint. I' m not sure about the law in IL but this is how it happens usually; the state punishes her in its own way and it does not do the harmed party any good... Ask your lawyer what to do...
Take care and well... try to "never mind"

I don't understand why you are "screwed" with your insurance company; are you saying they won't cover your modifed parts because you didn't have it covered as a "non-stock" car? Or that they won't cover you because it was a hit-and-run driver?

I used to word screwed to describe it due to the fact that my insurance will be paying for the damage since the person who actually caused the accident fled, and yes they are refusing to cover my supercharger, intercooler, and front header that were smashed in the collision, which ticks in at over $7k for those parts alone.

After almost 3 weeks I should be getting my Acura back tomorrow. Does anyone have any recommendations for protection on the fresh paint? Obviously I can't wax or seal it for atleast 3 months, but I wondering if there is anything I don't know about. Also, I ended up having to drive the Mercedes a couple days before receiving a rental car, there was some salt on the underside of it and in the wheel wells, but I made sure to spray off the underbody really well. Any suggestions as it has never seen snow, rain, or any elements period since I purchased it. Other than an occasional cruise on a nice summer day, it's been garaged.
P.S. - HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Meguiar's #80 should do the trick. It offer some safe polymer protection.

The hit and run driver needs beaten over the head with your bent exhaust header.
