Goodbye SC430, Hello Carrera S !

Say goodbye to the un-official Poorboys World SC430 that some of you know.

Say hello to a new '06 997 Porsche Carrera S in black with full aero kit. More items: PCCB, adaptive sport seats, sport exhaust, short shifter, full leather (black) seatbelts in yellow (matches the PCCB's), Bose system, Nav, and more.

I have an aquisition for February production and delivery in April.

I can't wait for this sick toy!

Regards,

Deanski

Dude! It's good to see you around! How are you going to drive the mere Lexus for the next few months?

Nice acquisition, Deanski. Do you have any plans for it?

It just hurts me to know that you will be slumming around in a lowly SC until your Porsche comes in.

I get dibs on the first ride in your new Porsche!

The SC430 is in the same place as always, the garage unless nice weather comes around. And since snow is here, it stays there! Next is trying to get the damn thing back to the dealer that I got it from in clean condition. The Porsche dealer was floored on how clean and bright it is. They opened the hood and could not believe how clean everything is.

As for the 997 C2S, the PCCB's (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes) calipers are yellow as opposed to red and save about 40lbs. Full leather, sport crono package, sport exhaust, short shifter, full aero kit (let's hope I clear speed bumps). At first I wanted it in GT Silver like the Carrera GT but that adds $3,000+ and it's the same clear-coat. Nothing exotic or better like a Cerami-Clear or other, just a tad darker than Artic silver. Not woth the $3,000. I put money in performance items. The power kit which boosts HP another 30HP or so, cost was $16,000. That I had to pass, I'm sure a new ECU will add some HP.

I really didn't want to go back to black as I remember very well how much of a PITA it is from my past black Lexus. But Porsche black is sooooo nice.

Wouldn't ya know, I ran out of Menzerna PO85RD and now I cannot get it. Figures! I wanted to drop it off to the dealer for his crew who I trust as I've seen the work and it's up there in Autopia standards!

As soon as it arrives at the dealer I wanted it cleaned and polished to prep for Armorglove coverage.

I was reading on Winding Road that this car comes second to the Ferarri F430, which is what I was trying to get, but it's just way too much money! Damn, so close, yet so far in getting one.

Once the Carrera S arrives, I'll start getting pics up.

Thanks guys and I'm just excited as hell!

Regards,
Deanski

One sweet ride! I love Porsche!

One question: What is Armorglove?

Armorglove is the clear paint protection film I already have on the SC430 and will have it installed on the Carrera. Worth every penny! Also, they can wrap the hood so it's not as visible. You can view it at their website www.armorglove.com

Black is a PITA, but it looks soooo nice! With the PCCB's and yellow seatbelts and Aero package, it looks very aggressive.

Dealer is having it trailered to the house as we have speed bumps and want to make sure I'll clear them or it's off to fight with the association to have them modified.

I may follow it from port-of-entry to dealer and take some pics.

Of course it snows now... I'm trying to setup a date to bring the SC430 back to the dealer without getting it nasty, as it's in perfect shape. DOn't even have rust on any rotors or calipers! Porsche dealer viewed it and was stunned that it was an '03.

Sure, figures I ran out of Menzerna PO85RD right before I get this and now it's unavalible! I guess payback for me not getting my case in sooner. Crap! Wonder what they are going to replace it with? Got to be better!

Man, I was going for the power kit, but from 355HP to 381HP for 16K is just crazy! I was better off spending the $$$ on other good items (PCCB's, Sport Exhaust etc). Geez, floor mats in color trim of choice is over $500! That's nuts! Too bad, black mats with yellow trim to match the seatbelts and PCCB's would have look intense!

Better get a cover for this in the garage as well. Gotta stock up on lot's of QD to maintain the black.

Pics to be sent as soon as I get the order in and have a firm delivery date!

Regards,
Deanski
