I'm ready for winter now. More ready than I've even been...

That's 8 bottles of QEW, 2 gallon jugs of S&G (one is only 1/4 full), a sprayer of S&G, a spray bottle for QEW/water, a jug of premixed QEW/water 8:1 for the spray bottle, and 2 cans of #16.

Plus I've got my snow tires mounted, balanced, cleaned, and protected with 303.
The wheel covers will get washed and sealed before getting attached to the wheels and being installed on the car.

Our first chance of rain/snow mix is on Sunday night and Monday, so I may have to take my nice alloys off as soon as this weekend.

I am anxious to see how the snow tires perform though!

sand, prime and paint the wheels??? I know they are for winter and will be wheel covered...but it wouldn't hurt..

Same thing around here in Buffalo for next monday-tuesday.

I've been wondering about using QEW in the winter around here with all of the salt and crap that ends up on the car (just got the new baby Tuesday and plan to put some Zanio on it this weekend). Is it safe to just use the QEW alone or should I hit one of those "do-it-yourself" car wash sprays to get off most of the crap and then get it home into the garage and use the QEW?

I always go to a spray-bay to knock off the big stuff first. I'd rather not push QEW's envelope, if you know what I mean.

Yeah it can't hurt to spray off the big stuff first. I've washed some pretty nasty grime off of my car with QEW before, but it's always nice to have less to wash off. We have really sandy soil around here, so I might end up doing that a few times too. I hate to think of washing sand off of my car with no rinsing beforehand.

White95Max- OK, *now* I see what you mean about those winter wheels. Being goofy about black steelies, I'd get 'em blasted and painted/powdercoated and not run the hubcaps.

By the time I ever get a pic taken of the MPV it'll probably have its steelies on- then you can tell me how awful they look and how I oughta get some hubcaps for 'em

I decided not to upgrade the brakes on the Caprice after all just because I don't want to have to run mag wheels, and I have the six-piston Wilwoods all ready to go on
