Insurance Repairs on 01 Civic

alright 01 civic was left in my drive way during katrina

several branches and flying debris flew into the car (120mph winds)

i plan on going thru a honda dealership for the estimate (sound good?) the insurance gave me the name of one of their preffered shops and told him should go there first(yeah right!!! )

2 1" deep dents in roof
1 1/2" deep dent in door panel and smashed window trim (rubber/metal part)
cracked windshiled
light dents in hood and other body panels (probably PDR would take out)
deep scrathes on several surfaces (down to base coat or primer)

sugesstions on what to do/say to make sure it is fixed RIGHT?and dealing with insurace bs tactics

i would get estimates from a few places, if you dont need the car repaired right now i would hold off cause imo the shops know the are gonna be backed up and would probaly rush anyways i would get estimates from a few shops and even the *preferred shop* reason being.....some insurance companies if you go thru their *preferred* shop, the workmanship is guaranteed to be to your liking and for life...but not all companies do this so do some research...and who ever you go thru, make sure the understand that you want honda genuine parts used only and you want that in the paper work, to use honda replacements parts
