lexus doesn't have a chance in hell of competing with the 760 IMO. no one with the cash for a 760 is going to think, "hey i'll go buy a lexus instead..." looks good though, and i like the hybrid aspect.

I would not be so sure. Lexus siphons off a lot of BMW owners based on what I have read.

lexus has no car that will compete with a 120k bmw. the ls430 can't even compete with a normal 7 series.

Based purely on looks, I'd rather have the LS430.

...and based on reliability I'd take the LS again. People don't ONLY shop price these days as when spending that kind of money you want value too. There's a lot more value in the Lex than the Bimmer.

I'll have to see it in person. To me the front end is a little too much like a rice racer. My wife drives an LS 430 and while the car is reliable, the thing is just downright boring. It has the Euro tuned suspension which to me is an improvement over the standard or air ride suspension but the car still feels numb.

I did have a 2004 SC 430 and the car was equally as numb and trust me was anything but reliable and did not have a good level of fit and finish. The dealer service experience was a nightmare. Passionate Pursuit of Perfection; My A**.

I'd still take an A8 over that anyday. That LS just looks like it's trying too hard to look sporty. Lexus has yet to build a true "driver's car".

Wait until Lexus moves its concept LF-C into production then you'll see a real driver's car. That's not to say the GS and SC are not already a true driver's car.

I really wish people on here would compare apples to apples. Comparing an IS to a high end BMW c'mon........why not compare a Olds Cutlass to Carrera? Wondering why an LS doesn't have a more sporty feel? WHAT? Do you even know what demographic the LS is targeted/marketed towards?

I beg to differ. The SC is a rider's car not a driver's car. Also take a look at the Club Lexus forum and look at all of the "VIP" cars; a bunch of people trying to make their LS autos into something sportier. I probably fall into that age bracket that they are targeting but I'll take my sportier, better handling and more powerful sedans any day of the week over the marshmallow LS.
