So does that mean that you can't wait to buy one? Well, I'm glad to see you can afford a $120,000 car!

Sign me up... looks like a perfectly good reason to never buy another BMW 3 series.

Not the same class.

Plus, here's a few thousand reasons to still buy a 3:

"The prices are to be settled between 100,000 and 150,000 €."

That's for the P-car...

Price has never been the issue. Four seats, perfect handing and stellar performance are what I want in a "Family Sports Car".

As my BMW 330i had 90% of the real-world performance of my 993S, I find it reasonable to compare the two.

If BMW would come to their senses and make a 4-door M3 again, it would be in the same class as the 4-door Porsche.

I love the power plant in my Cayenne. You bet I'd like to see it in a light weight 4-door sports car. The Cayenne S would be out of my garage like yesterday's trash.

Exactly. "A 4-dr. M3 would be in the same class." But, a 325/330 coupe OR sedan would NOT be in the same class, so there's still plenty of reason to buy a 325/330. I guess your post made it sound like a basic entry-level $35,000 3-series doesn't need to exist anymore, because there's now a $125,00 4-dr. P car. That's quite a discrepancy in price and performance--different class, market, target, etc.

If that's not what you meant, then we're probably on the same page...

Reading your post again, maybe you meant YOU don't need to buy another 3-series again because YOU can afford to buy whatever fits your needs, regardless of price. Unfortunately, most of us don't have the luxury of ignoring the price tag.

And yeah, I wish they made a 4-dr. M3 again, too.

Chris
