Umm- A Mercedes Truck?
http://www.aol.com/autos/article/4.adp
What's next, a VW Bug limo?
"The as-yet-unnamed pick-up will be based on the '06 G-Class SUV -- and feature a five-passenger, crew cab bodystyle with four full-size doors and a short bed out back that can be used to haul stuff home, just like any other contractor special. But the Benz truck will feature decidedly uptown features and amenities"

Someone has to put a challanger on the market to compete with the Hummer SUT, right? Personally, I love G-wagons and think this would also be a great truck.
BTW Burly, click here to reserve your stretch beetle limo: http://www.airportshuttles.com/vehic...nes-vw-bug.htm

I only remember it exisiting because for one of my friends 21st birthdays we wanted to take a crazy limo out to the bars and someone mentioned a VW Bug limo a local limo place has; the thought behind the idea was since girls love Beetles and girls love limos so why not get the best of both worlds and see what happens. In the end we ended up opting for 2 stretch Mini Coopers, one with a jacuzzi in the back.

It should be noted that the Mercedes G wagon is one of the most capable off roading vehicles out there, short of the Unimog. Don't know about the new G's, but older G's are amazing.

Danowatt, Yes - i agree - the orignal G wagon was very highly regarded for it's off road capability. Certainly here in europe it was rated as highly as strictly off road vehicles such as the uni-mog and Land-rovers 'defender' range. The defenders are, of course, used by the British and other armed forces around the world as an off-road vehicle.

And to think the Baja started this off again and now Subaru is killing the platform

Yep, ugly as sin but if the sales keep going like they are it WILL be a true bargain at the prices one will be able to negotiate. It's a well equipped truck for someone that doesn't need a heavy duty truck.

Next thing you know, there'll be a Porsche SUV. A Porsche! Oh wait, they have that already. Now I remember--I cried that day...
Nothing surprises me anymore...

I think the Ridgeline is GREAT! It has more functional ammentities than an Escalade EXT, much better gas mileage, much cheaper, and I think it rivals its looks. Maybe its me, but I'd say a whopping 15% of the population in the NorthEast truly use their trucks and SUV's what they are made for.
Would you bring this thing offroad?
For me, I think the Ridgeline is Honda's view of a suburban SUV...good looks, good gas mileage and driveability, and a pretty price tag. If I had the money for a second vehicle (I'm a car guy), that would be my choice.
