Favorite Car in TV Series/Movie

As a teen growing up in the 1980's I will never forget the impact that the following cars in these TV shows had on me....

1. "Dukes of Hazard," Dodge Challenger
2. "Magnum PI's," Ferrari
3. All of the sports cars on "Miami Vice".
4. Knight Rider's Camaro

What are some of your favorite vehicles on the Big Screen/ Television.

ahhh magnum's 308... i still believe that the 308 is the best looking car ever. it literally looks like it's going 200mph when it's just sitting there.

there's so many it's hard to pick but the shelby gt in gone in 60 seconds really stands out as a great car and a great chase seen.

here's a shot of one of the shelbys from gone in 60 seconds. just ignore the goofy guy, my wife tried to get me, i mean him, to move and quit blocking the car

I'd have to say the Ferrari in "The Rock." Pretty cool when it gets smashed by the trolley.

Last but not least, the Transformer cars!!

Miami Vice

It's hard not to look cool, even in out of style 80's clothing when you sport one of these !!!

Snake... That Shelby is awesome.
Floni ... Which would you chose?

The Starsky and Hutch Charger? ( I think?)
or
The General Lee

Floni, you are referring to Starsky and Hutch's '75 Torino with a 351. I loved that car as well. Another car you alluded to was the Ferrari 550 Maranello that Cage drove in Family Man. That car is to seriously drool over.

Besides those 2.....

1) The '69 Charger in "The Fast and the Furious":
Can we say bored and stroked 440 with a Weiand 6-71 blower and an Enderle Bug catcher?

2) The Ferrari 456 GT in Ronin:
456s have always been a dream car of mine.

3) The Diablo Roadster in "Exit Wounds"
Too bad my large frame couldn't fit in it....lol

4) The Charger in "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry"
That looked like a Super Bee and I had always liked those.

5) (Tie) 3 cars from the Fast and the Furious
The RX-7 that Vin Diesel Drove
The Lexus SC300
The Maxima

6) The Ferrari 355 in "The Rock"

7) The Porsche 911 Turbo (993) in "Bad Boys"

8) The Audi S8 in Ronin

9) (Tie) 2 Dodge Challengers
Nash Bridges
Vanishing Point

10) The Supra in "The Fast and the Furious"

11) The Skyline GT-R in "The Fast and the Furious"

12) The Lotus Esprit in "Pretty Woman"

13) The '68 Charger in "Blade"
Classic Hot Rod appearance. Black with Center Line Satin Auto/Drag rims

That's all I can think of for the moment.

Without hesitation it was the Lotus Europa driven by Emma Peel in the British TV show, The Avengers! That car created endless hours of daydreaming for me as a kid.

The second car I loved was also on that show...a '66 Jaguar 3.8 litre Mark II. One of the most beautiful front ends ever. (Not counting Mrs. Peel.) That was the car that got me started in Jaguars. I owned one for several years.

Not only does this all date me but it proves I have been an Anglophile since birth.

Prinz II...

Thanks !! You always give such well thought out answers . Thanks for clearing up the make of the Starsky and Hutch mobile.

However... I would go with the General Lee, only because as a kid a truly believed that the actual car was capable of making those ridiculous jumps.

Brad... I bet that the cars in your santuary have a few stories to tell worthy of your own mini-series
