Yup.

I'm a big fan of Nascar to Pork&Beany but it isn't the same as it has been in years past. If you would have asked me if the change would have been good, I would have said no, but I would have been wrong. It's not Winstin Cup anymore it's Nextel cup, they don't go to the small southern race tracks all the time that can hold 1/3 of the people that the new bigger race tracks can hold, and the "young guns", lucky dog rule, and race to 10 have added a more exciting show.
The sport is getting popular in every state, and might I add other countries. Mexico got a great Busch race this year, it was one of the best Busch races I've seen. I guess I could have kept a small mind and said those lettuce pickers dont deserve a race, or I could keep an open mind and see where the sport goes. I hope Nascar also gets more Asian, Mexican, Black, and yes even Women drivers to add more diversity to the sport. I miss seeing Shawna out there, she had spirit but unfortunately bad equipment. So long as the car fits the specs who cares who sponsers it? Especially considering that some car makers are pulling out like Pontiac. So long as there is a good race who cares of the color of the driver.
Nascar has been labeled the last racist sport and it is something Nascar has been trying to overcome. They have been working with people like Jesse Jackson and Magic Johnson and they have been reaching out to everyone, not just the good ol' boys in the south. They have a new race diversity program that will put people of color into the drivers seat and I think that's cool. They have done a lot of PR pieces that show the women and minorities that help with the race cars and race day. I didn't much care for the comment about the rice even though to some it might be a small thing. I think it's inappropiate to exclude a company because it's not "white".
