Mosca's new ride

So, remember all the input you guys gave me when I was asking?

I was going to get a 1 year old off-lease Malibu Maxxx... until I drove one.

Nothin' wrong with the way it handled. It had plenty of power. But I just didn't like it. It wasn't comfortable for me. I didn't like the thing on the driver's door where the window buttons were, hitting me in the knee.

So, Subaru has the new Legacy 2.5i sedan, with a special sign-and-drive lease deal, 48 months. It's $68.50 out of pocket, Subaru makes the first payment, 15000 miles a year, with my employee discounts the payments are $285/mo, including tax. The money factor (.000115) works out to 2.75% cost of funds. The residual is artificially high; the real depreciation over 4 years will be more than the sum of the payments (before tax).

Pearl white. Taupe leather. I'm getting it this weekend.

Are you modding this one like the Miata?

LOL, no mods Glenn. It's going to be leased, and they frown on that.

I'll post pics after I give it the onceover, Norah, but that won't be until mid to late March; I'm getting the car, then we're going on vacation.

I forgot to add, I get a $200 car allowance for giving up the demo, so the net to me is $85 a month.

Congrats on the new ride

I just turned in my lease for a 2001 Jetta VR6 and am now tooling around in my 10 year old Civic until I start my new job

What made you go for a wagon and white?

Sedan, not a wagon; lower payment, don't need the wagon, quieter passenger compartment.

Out of the ones in stock, there were 2 medium blue with no equipment, and one dark blue, one black, and the pearl, with auto dim mirror & compass, arm rest extension, and something else. I didn't want the dark blue or black, and I wanted the mirror with compass. Color was a little important, but not a lot. I can keep any of them nice. But I didn't want all the nagging of those dark colors.

I think you under-estimate the hugeness of the step.

I'm sure you will love the car, Tom. I can't wait to see pics.
