As fast as the STi is and how much I love turbo's, I'm still with the RSX-S.

A-Spec Package...Look at those lines!

bad points about the type-S (well the 02-04)

1) *** second gear grind ***
2) turning radius = HUGE
3) rides high
4) leather isn't the greatest
5) boring/bland/civic look
6) no HIDs
7) Really sh!tty stock tires

good points
1) Naturally Aspirated
2) Fuel Economy
3) Great Handling
4) Made in Japan, reliable

As for the STi, I'm not sure if the tranny is the greatest.

I'd love an STi because of its sheer uniqueness. If I had to buy my car again, I'd get an S2000 instead and live down south.

I work at a Subie dealer and love the STi, but:

The RSX Type-S looks like a great value at $24k MSRP and has little depreciation. The blue is awesome and is similar to Rally Blue on the WRX. With 210hp it looks like an awesome car with a bit of a drop and no rice attached. Also the 2005 Type-S has nicer 17s that wouldnt need to be swapped rolling off the dealer lot. I have never driven one though.

With that said, look for a 2004 stock STi. The 2005 STi is expensive and has a new color and thats really it. I love the STi interior treatment, the blue/black is sweet!

The RSX is a great car vs. the regular Rex, but pales to the STi.

Ever thought of a JCW Mini Cooper S? Just a thought...
Also, if you can wait til Fall "05, get a MkV VW GTI! They are awesome!

I love the look of the RSX...but the 02-04's have a little more character than the '05's.
