Question What cables to put on a 00 Civic?

A couple of winter's ago I tried to put cables on my Civic, but I had to take them off real quick as I heard them rubbing on something inside the wheel well. Is the Civic wheel well too small to acomodate cables?

Already have beastly snow tires, Blizzaks. I plan to put the cables/chains on them to enhance traction. Last time I tried to do this the cables/chains were banging around inside my wheel well.

Maybe you need smaller diameter snow tires?

Is the car lowered? If not you should have enough room. I don't think you will really need them with your winter tires on there. Maybe carry them around with you to get out of a bad spot that your tires won't get you out off.

Na the car isn't lowered anymore. Well my snow tires do great in snow, but not in ice. I'd like to put the cables on the tires so they could handle ice if I need to get out to work.

Have you increased the size of your tire or wheel? That can affect that. Also, sounds like you may need smaller cables. Many years ago I had a similar problem when I borrow cables. They didn't fit right and rattled. If you're still in doubt, take it to a local tire shop and see what they say.

No I haven't changed the tire size. I'll give smaller chains a try. I dunno if I can go any smaller, but it's worth a shot.
