German cars

If you were to choose a practical German car under $30k, what would it be? New or used, any style, state your choice. I'm just curious to see what my fellow Autopians would want to see their best Klasse combos on.

A slightly used 3 series BMW is a highly rewarding machine.

I'd definately prefer the BMW or Audi, both are respectively good vehicles to own...........even Mini Cooper S.

Porsche 911 would be nice if you can get one used in an earlier year.

Those are my choices!

A practical car? I quess it depends on what you mean by practicle car and where you live. If it snows in your area you could get a Audi A4 or an A6 with Quattro (all wheel drive) Great cars! Or you can get a BMW X5 (suv) Great vehicle. I now have one. If your not worried about snow you can get a BMW, Merc, or a VW
all are great cars in there own ways. Now alot of your choices will depend if your are looking for new or used. If new you will have to look at a VW but if your are willing to buy used there are tons of choices.

If you want to a very very fun car get a used Porsche 911 ITS THE PERFECT VEHICLE!

If money was no object:

For the winter and to tow my boat
BMW X5 4.8 or a
Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Every day Car
BMW M5
BMW M3
Porsche 911 turbo or GT2

and for the weekends:
A Porsche Carrera GT

I'd love a well cared for low mileage 91 or 92 911 Turbo.

BMW 3 or 5 series or an Audi A8. I myself would go with the Audi, but you could probably get a nicer condition Bimmer for the money.

A newer 3-series coupe. Love those cars!

If I could have spent about another $7,000, I would be driving one instead of my Solara. Wouldn't be as powerful though (330Ci costs too much).

under 30K you can still get a decently equipped Audi A4 or a more loaded VW Passat. I don't think you could swing that with a BMW

Even at the current exchange rate, I could find half a dozen serious contenders, all being 3 series, just in my city (Calgary) for under $30k US($36k CDN). Darn- that's near enough for a new car- cetainly enough for a 1-2 year old model.

When I was considering what car to get, I was going to go with either the A4 or a 3 series coupe ( I don't really care for the sedans).

A basic "stripped down" 3 series coupe with an automatic as the only option was about the same as my car 1.8T Tiptronic Quattro, Premium package,Bose, 17" wheels, leather.

It was the Audi hands down for me.

2001 325 35k miles, every option but nav 100k warranty and brand new pilot alpins snow tires on M3 wheels

$23k 4 months ago

I love it, perfect balance between sport comfort and economy.
