RX-8 Full Throttle for 24 hours

They ran an RX-8 at full throttle on a test track for 24 without any problems.

Pretty impressive!

Why should that be surprising? You drive your car for a lot longer than that, accelerating, stop and go, etc.

I wonder what kind of oil they used, and how much.

I had a RX7 (1979) when first introduced. Great little engine and very peppy. Very durable engine with fewer moving parts then conventional engines.
If only they could improve the gas consumption of such a tiny engine.

You mean Consumer Reports didn't put you off of buying it when they pointed out you could scrape your head on the latch on the hatchback (possibly making BoSox insignia illegible)?
