Post Autopian Drivers

Autopian Drivers are mostly careful drivers. What do you think?

Well I am a slow driver, checking out other cars on the road and comparing with my car. When I see any car, my mind start doing analysis - u need this polish , this sealant or this wax. Look at those dirty wheels, caked with brake dust. Numerous times checking out side mirrors to see reflections on my car. As a result, driver behind me loose patience and overtakes me ...

I try to follow the law...unlike about 95% of the drivers in this area! The drivers out here suck.

i dont know if you could consider my dad an Autopian, as he's only clayed 1 vehicle in his lifetime and then sat back and watched me polish the whole dern truck...

but the family (including my 12 yr old sister) kind of looks at speed limits as a minimal speed limit. i have formulated an excellent plan to allow fast drivers to drive fast safely on highways (but thats another story).

as long as you are comfortable with your driving skills, i dont really see a problem with exceeding a speed limit slightly. i believe i read somewhere that on average more accidents occur because of people going slower than the posted speed than they do with higher speeds?

i might write up a thread about my new idea for the Car and Driver in the next few days.

The problem with driving skills is that most drivers overrate their skills.

Most drivers are over confident. They drive without using defensive driving skill. That's how accidents happen.

I tend to be a careful driver. I try to obey traffic laws. I drive the interstates daily to go see clients and I have seen too many accidents due to speeding and unsafe conduct. Be careful and stay safe .

Extremely careful around especially around trucks. I stay as far back away from them as I possibly can.

I thought that was just me

I obey the speed limits allways careful around town areas but when there is no-one around on a back-road I allways like to push the car and enjoy driving But there no better place to let it all go than on a racetrack

Understand your car, know its limits and driving will be a lot more fun
