Gas

Is the name brand gas really worth the extra 4-10 cents a gallon more? Where I live the refineries are very close and I bet some of those no name stations get their gas from them.

I don't know, but I have to imagine the small guys buy from the large refineries.

I'd say yes, cuz for whatever reason my car runs its best on Exxon premium gas as opposed to any other premium gas. My boss @ work says that his Corvette runs better on Mobile premium gas. If your looking for the best performance, id say yes, while gas is gas, i think the additives that each individual company adds, make the most difference in performance (if thats what your looking for).

My Tank is 31 gallons! When premium is 1.50/gal thats easy over $40 a tank depending on when I fill her up.

She runs fine on the cheap stuff so I will continue to use it.

Now if I had a little speed demon car requiring 93 Octane due to high compression I would certainly buy the good stuff.

Talking

My mechanic has told me to use only brand name gas. The service manager at my local Honda Dealer told me to go to high volume places (multiple pumps) for the freshest gas. As Guess My Name mentioned using 93 when not required is a waste of money, not to mention not good for the car!

I am a person who is very ticky regarding the gas he puts in the Maxima (or any of his cars). I have been running Mobil and Shell in the Maxima (and my previous Caprice) because I like the quality of their gas. I just hate the oxygenated crap we have to contend with in Chicago because it seems to burn faster.

I only use Premium gas.

My 2000 Max seems to run much better with Texaco gas. I gave Exxon and Chevron a good try but Texaco just seems to be a bit better.

Citgo is quite bad! Again, Citgo is bad!
