Don't be skurred; it's a stone cold BLAST. It's the most fun you can have in about one minute.

The first time I autox'd, it felt like forever, and like no time at all, both at the same time. I got out of my car, and my heart was pounding like I'd just RUN the course, rather than drove it, and I tried to stand and my knees were weak.

Our season opener is Sunday. I was driving down to the Honda dealer to get a new helmet, and I picked up a nail in my sidewall, a hook-shaped sucker that dug in, then turned and pushed itself out. Son of a gun, you can't run an autox on a donut.

And to make things worse, the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s are backordered... for about two months. So I had to order a set of Bridgestone S-03s instead; they'll be here on Wednesday.

It's the 18th.

Drive the Lancer. You can pretend it's an evo. Gosh, if I'm going in the Accord...

Mosca, I need some excitement in my life.

A friend of mine is doing his shocks & springs this weekend; he loaned me his wheels and tires, so I'm goin' racing!

The cool thing about autox is that the car doesn't really mater. There's a guy in the NEPA SCCA who autocrosses a 1991 S-10 4x4. I was down in Hershey last year, a guy driving a Lincoln Town Car spanked the field. (Later I found out that he used to teach evasive driving to the Secret Service, and that the year before he drove a Grand Caravan... in reverse).

Have fun!

Dish, man; how'd you like it? How'd you do?

My best time was 27.978, ttod was 24.9ish, and there were some guys whose best times were over 29, so I did ok on a short course. The tires are definitely not autox tires; I did a lot of squealing around cones.
