I was renting a 1999 Mustang (V6 - 190hp) and that happened to me. I was not surprised after seeing the 32V badge in the back ... damn fast cars ... on the next stop light we went different ways ...

The fastest i have driven is 220kmh (downhill with the wind on my tail) and the car was feeling like it will come apart chasing a GTI VR6, my car at the time was a 2.0L Golf (chipped).

My current car is the only one I have not tried to the limit, it got up to 220kmh way to easy and still had room to go, I didn't ... I guess aging does produce a bit of common sense.

Last time I got a speeding ticket was over 3 years ago here in Mexico and over 10 years ago in the US ... altough last year got about 5 parking violations in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and I still get upset when I remember that.

A very enjoyable fast run was driving once from Glasgow to Edinborough on a rented Ford Mondeo (4 cilynder, z rated tires, standard transmission) hit about 190 km/h, my passengers were getting rather nervous and I slowed down ...

Over 10 years back I was chased by cops - 3 times - twice I lost 'em , once I had to pay a hefty fine, one time they had a dog in the back of a pickup truck and in a corner I saw the dog fly of the back of the pick up ... why would they chase me with a free dog in the back is still unknown to me. This was in Mexico and I knew my car would beat their cars, I'll never try to outrun a cop anywhere else ...

High speed on a Jeep is scary ... solid axles on both sides, bouncy suspension, all terrain tires, brakes not suited for stopping quickly from 100+ mph, steering probably way over assisted... ask me how I know

I've hit 120 (engine screaming at about 6000 rpm) in my 4 cylinder mercury capri....

It was suprisingly stable at those speeds, just really really noisy!

Hit about 106 driving with my dad in his 97 F-250

About 100 in the 01 escape

I don't know if I trust my BMW speedometer or not. I was driving the 528i before an aftermarket chip and the needle nearly touched 140. But it felt a lot slower (safer) and the speed-limiter is supposed to limit the car at 128. It's interesting how Motor Trend says they went 155 mph in a stock M5 while the speedo touched 180.

The fastest I went was 145 in my father's old 933 (1996) 911 Turbo.

I'm more of a curvy, brake/heel-toe, turn, drift, and floor-it-with-the-tires-screaming-on-the-mountain-road kind of a person... not the dangerous drag racing type.

Just tonight I was taking a friend for a ride in the WRX (he's moving to Arizona, so he wanted one last blast through the canyons before he left) and afterward on the I-15S on a loooong straight section of road with noone around (1:30am) I downshifted to 4th and floored it. I've recently turned up the boost a couple psi and oh man does this thing pull hard! The road had some mild dips ahead so I started slowing after abut 130mph... what a rush

I'm such a boost junkie it's not even funny! I constantly am finding reasons to slow down just so I can floor it and feel the pull Maybe I should turn the boost back down so I can save from using up all this gas... nah

Aren't all MB's and BMW's limited to 155mph,from the factory? some kind of gentlemans agreement betwen the two.

Don't you just love how all the cars fly by when you're at 120 plus?? I know, I know... It is extremely dangerous to do, but it's almost a calming experience... anyways...

The fastest I've been in a car was 140 mph in friend's Lexus SC430. However, the fastest I've been in MY car (Ford Explorer XLT) was 121 mph. The limiter kicked in and wouldn't let me go all the way to the 160, so... I BOUGHT A CHIP THAT REMOVES THE LIMITER I have yet to test it again, though... Perhaps I'm getting wiser in my old age

I forgot to mention the worst/only ticket I've ever gotten - 76 in a 35, on radar.
