Did he beat you up or abuse you in some nasty way? (I've heard bad things about Ohio cops.) Did he follow you around all day?

Re: Speeding

Just started dating a new girl. 4th date we get on the highway in my roommates 1991 MR2 with a TD06 turbo. I merge onto the on ramp and punch it. Bark 1-2 and 2-3 and just kept punching it. Got up to 125 before I left off a little. Not 1 word out of her mouth. Later that night she admitted she loved it wants to go 'driving' again in the future. She sounds like a keeper to me!

On my way to court with my dad to fight my 92 in a 65 mph ticket my dad punches it on the highway and gets up to 140ish. That was in a 1998 Mustang GT.

Made it from Orlando to North Miami Beach in 2 hours, normally take 4-4.5 going the speed limit / pending traffic.

I remember renting a regular Mark VII for my HS prom and it was kind of fun to drive.

However, most of my time was spent in a 1987 that I used to torch quite a few expressways. In fact, Interstate 80 between Chicago and Joliet saw me doing 100+ way before the 2002 Maxima.

Nah, they knew better than that But I was "in the position" for a long time and he called for back-up and it ended up being a big to-do with lots of LEOs there really going over the car (looking for stuff) and being, uhm, unfriendly. After they let me go, I got tailgated the rest of the way through the state by seemingly every LEO on the road. This was in Indiana in '89, car was a Porsche 928S4, which I selling to Isringhausen Imports in IL. I was having a bit too much fun during my last drive in it

Re: Speeding

Cruising: 15-25 over the posted limit usually, depending on the location of my radar detector.

Town: 0-15 over the posted limit, depending on how residential the area is.

Top speed: 120 MPH.

Top speed pulled over at: 112 in a 55. The world's nicest officer then wrote me up for 85.

If I didn't have an underpowered convertible, I'd get into real trouble.

Re: Speeding

I've gotten busted twice for speeding: 55 in a 30 and 44 in a 25. Both got thrown out in court. I usually drive 5 over on most roads and 7-10 over on the highway.

Re: Speeding

Here's one from college days. My best friend and I did 120 - 130+ on I-57 between Champaign and Chicago in a RX-7. Scary thing about that car was it was begging to do more.

I also ran 125+ in a Mark VIII

Re: Speeding

I remember getting pulled over for 75 by the IL State Police and getting let off with a warning when driving my Caprice.

Re: Speeding

I've driven 70 in a 35 before in an eclipse(ok not that fast but still fun to drive).
I could probably get my moms little sentra to over 100 but i dont feel like a massive ticket.. i've taken it 95 a few times.
I have been in a Civic Coupe with 4 people in it goin 120. now thats scary. considering it ran like total crap the next mornin.. and yeah L.A. to san bernardino in like 30 mins.
Nothin special. I'm afraid to drive my tacoma past 95 haha.

Re: Speeding

I have mellowed these days and rarely break double digits but, my most memorable incident was doing 135mph on I4 between Daytona and Orlando about 10 years ago on my 1996 CBR1000. I was headed back to Orlando from Jacksonville after picking up the bike from Sargent Cycle where I had a custom seat cover made. There wasn't any traffic and I just couldn't resist letting the horses run free....

Here is a link to the seat that Sargent made for me and a couple of variations they made as samples for their site as well....
