New VW SUV , not the Touareg
I'm looking for a new SUV for my wife , I want to stick to VW but the Touareg is too much for our needs. I've heard some rumors about a Golf Based SUV coming in the next few years. I have two questions , has any one heard of this vehicle yet if so any info available? Second how long would be reasonable to wait for it to come out? Thanks for the help.

Probably too long to be "looking" for your wife. How much do you need a higher towing capacity or ground clearance? What do you think of the A4 Quatto or Passat 4Motion wagon?

thninksnow , a wagon is our second option but my wife prefers the seating postion of a SUV. I would love to get an Audi Allroad but they are way to expensive for my budget. I also want a diesel this time , so if this SUV doesn't happen then the Jetta wagon is the only wagon with a diesel available.
brooze2006 , thanks for the info I'll post over there too.

By too much do you mean that the Touareg is too big, too cumbersome to drive, too much money?
For an SUV they handle really well and have an exceptionally tight turning radius which helps when parking. Speaking of parking they also have an option for front and rear parking sensors.

Before you plunk down that kind of dough I strongly recommend driving the XC90 back to back with a V8 Touareg. The only reason that I would choose the Volvo was if I need the third row seat. The VW's interior, power and handling were all considerably superior. JM2c

I have good reasons for having two SUVs in our family, however by the tone of your question, enumerating them for you would be a waste of breath. Suffice it to say that I will not relinquish my decision making process to you.
